8. DISASSEMBLY
• Unplug the cord from the electrical
outlet (7).
• Let the Chafing Dish cool.
• In the case of models CDRT-A, CDRT-V,
CDROUND-A, CDSOP-A, CDROUND-V,
CDSOP-V, CDC-E and CDR-E remove
the food pan (3), the support frame (4) if
there is one, the water pan (5), and pour
out the water.
• Release the electrical cord (9) from the
cord holder (26).
• If the electric heating unit is in place,
loosen the nuts (8) on the base of the
water pan and remove the heating unit (7).
9. CLEANING
Disassemble the Chafing Dish before
proceeding with the its cleaning (see
chapter 7).
9.1 General Information
The following components can be washed in
a commercial dishwasher: lid (), food pan (3),
support frame (4), water pan (5), and the can
holder (2).
Wash the gold plated pieces with warm
water only using a mild household detergent.
Afterwards, wipe them with a soft cloth until
dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they can
damage the gold plating.
9.2 Electric heating unit
Always unplug the cord from the electrical
outlet first! The electric heating unit (7) should
not ever be submerged in water or placed
under the faucet. Clean it only with a slightly
damp cloth.

In the case of Fagor Chafing dish models
CDRT-A, CDRT-V, CDROUND-A, CDSOP-A,

CDROUND-V and CDSOP-V, the braking
affect of the lid () can diminish after a
period of prolonged use. In this case the
braking component must be replaced.
10.2 Problem resolution
Problem
Difficult or impossible to open the lid ().
Possible cause
• The lid () is not properly placed on the
juts (2).
• The juts (2) (squared) are not positioned
correctly.
Solution
• Place the lid () on the two juts (2) (Fig. F).
• Turn the lid () 80º.
• Put it back in the initial position with a
spanner. The “R” or “L” on the top
should be visible.
Problem
The lid () won’t stay in the desired position
(Fig. J, Point 2).
Possible cause
• The braking mechanism parts (Figs. L
and M) are worn out.
Solution
• Replace the worn out pieces (see
section 9., Maintenance).
Problem
Heating takes too long.
Possible cause
• The electric heating unit (7) is not tight
against the base of the water pan.
• The base of the water pan has become
convex (warped).
• The power of the heating element is not
strong enough (incorrect type of heating
element).
Solution
• Test and tighten the bolts manually.
• Replace the water tray (5).
• Contact the supplier.
