• The electric heating unit needs to be
installed for the rectangular Chafing
dish models CDRT-A and CDRT-V and
for the round models CDROUND-A,
CDSOP-A, CDROUND-V and CDSOP-
V (see section 5.2 “Mounting of the
electric heating unit”).
• Fill the water pan (5) with approximately
.5 cm of hot water (60-70º C) (Fig. E).
Do not over fill. The mounted food pan
should not come in contact with the
water! Check the water level every time
the food pan is changed (3). Preheat the
porcelain food pans to 70-00º before
putting food in them.
• Replace the support frame (4) (Fig. A), if
it has one.
• Fasten the lid horizontally (facing the lid
handle) and check that the positioning
is correct (the “R” or “L” on top should
be visible from the work side of the
Chafing Dish). Place the lid () on the
two juts (2) (Fig. F). Make sure that
both sides of the lid () are sitting
properly in place and that it can be
easily opened and closed (Fig. K).
• Close the lid.
• Plug in the electric heating unit (7) to a
grounded electrical outlet.
Caution
Warning: the cord should not
come in contact with the water
pan (5). To prevent damage,
don’t pull on or twist the cord.
A damaged electrical cord should be
immediately replaced by a qualified electrician.
Danger
A damaged electrical cord can
expose the Chafing Dish to
electrical current and pose a life
threatening risk of shock if the
ground connection is lost. In order
to avoid this situation, the hot plate should
only be plugged into an outlet with a grounded
line. This protection should not be cancelled
out by using an extension cord without a
grounded line.
Wait 30 to 40 minutes for the Chafing Dish
to reach its working temperature. Place the

of heat can be dangerous.
They are not adapted to
the requirements of the
Fagor Chafing dishes and can result in
overheating and risk of fire. Use only the
heating units specified above.

Electrical current - Any
manipulating of the Chafing
Dishes beyond their normal
operation should only be
done with the heat source disconnected, in
other words, it should be unplugged from
the electrical current.
5.1 Assembly of the Chafing Dish (Fig. A)
• Remove the packaging, place the
Chafing dish on a flat stable surface
and close the lid ().
• Lift the closed lid ().
• Remove the serving dish (3).
• Remove the support frame (4), if it has one.
• Remove the water pan (5).
ABefore installing and connecting the
electric heating unit (7), read the general
notes in the operational instructions which
accompany the unit (7).
