The Fagor Chafing Dishes will work with the
following sources of heat:
• Rectangular Chafing Dish:
2 Fagor Ethanol or Methanol heating cans
PLAE-80 or PLAE-380 electric
heating unit
• Rectangular Chafing Dish with glass lid:
Integrated 280 W electric heating unit
• Round Chafing Dish:
Fagor Ethanol or Methanol heating can
PLAE-80 or PLAE-380 electric
heating unit
• Round Chafing Dish with glass lid:
Integrated 280 W electric heating unit
• Urn for heating liquids:
Fagor Ethanol or Methanol heating can
Warning:
The rectangular Chafing Dishes
with glass lids have an integrated
electric heat source that should
NOT be substituted.
Only the 70 cm. Round Chafing
dishes come with their own burners
(without fuel). Choose the appropriate heat
sources for the other models.
• In order to prevent the flame from going
out after lighting the fuel, wait about a
minute before placing the burner under
the Chafing Dish.
• If you are going to use an electric heat
source, follow the instructions in the
“Electric heat source” section.
• Fill the water tray with .5 cm (/2 inch)
of hot water (the water should be at
least 50-60 Cº).
Note that the food pan
should not touch the water.
• Remember that the gold plated parts
should not be cleaned with harsh
detergents. Clean these parts with
warm water and a small amount of mild
dishwashing soap. Wipe them dry.
1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
FAGOR CHAFING DISHES
Read the instructions carefully before
using the new Chafing Dish. Make sure
that staff members working with it have
received adequate training based on these
operational instructions. These instructions
should be kept at hand so that they can be
quickly referenced at any time.
Before using the Chafing Dish, fill the water
pan (5) with hot water to the depth of .5
cm. The water can evaporate. Its level
should be checked periodically.
2. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST
TIME
Fagor Chafing Dishes are used to keep
food hot (with the heating element lit) or
cold (with the heating element off and
chopped ice or other refrigerating element
in the water pan (5)) on a buffet. There are
two types of heating systems available for
installation: electric heating units (chapter 5)
or heating gel cans (chapter 6).
These instructions are intended for the
Fagor Chafing Dish models CDRT-A,
CDROUND-A, CDSOP-A, CAL-A, CDRT-V,
CDROUND-V, CDSOP-V, CAL-V, CDC-E
and CDR-E.
The Chafing Dishes should only be used
by qualified people familiarized with the
risks resulting from misuse described in
these instructions, as well as with the notes
regarding safety. Children should only
use these products if supervised. In the
restaurant business, the replacement of
fuel should only be done by maintenance
personnel trained based on these user
instructions.

dangerous and are prohibited for safety
