CHAPTER 5
OPERATION
This chapter contains information that is needed to operate the DMT143.
Transmitter Start-Up
When the transmitter is connected to power supply (for instructions on
selecting the correct operating voltage, see section Power Supply
Requirements on page 23), there is a delay of two seconds as the
transmitter starts up. After the start-up is complete, the measurement data
is available from the analog output and serial line.
For a description of how the diagnostic functions of the sensor affect the
availability of live measurement at start-up, see section DMT143 Startup
Sequence on page 17.
If serial line output is used, note that the transmitter will behave
according to the configured serial mode:
- In STOP mode, the transmitter outputs the transmitter model and
software version. This is the default mode.
- In RUN mode a measurement output starts immediately.
- In POLL mode the transmitter does not output anything after power-
up.
