Passwords
To improve security, you can require that a user log in to
make changes to HMT140 parameters. If Passwords are
enabled, a password prompt appears when a user clicks
Update on the Setup tab. No other HMT140 functions will
require a login password.
To set, change or remove an HMT140 password:

Open the HMT140 Utility.

Connect the HMT140 to your computer.

From the Options menu, select Advanced Options.

On the Advanced Options window, check Enable use
of passwords in HMT140
, then click OK.

To set the password for the first time:
• Leave the Current Password field blank.
• Check the Change Password option.
• Enter the new password in the New Password and
New Password Again
fields.
• Click Update.

To change an existing password:
• Enter the current password
• Check the Change Password option.
• Enter the new password in the New Password and
New Password Again
fields.
• Click Update.

To clear a password:
• Enter the current password.
• Check the Change Password option, and leave the
New Password
and New Password Again fields
blank.
• Click Update.
CAUTION:Record the password in a safe location for safe-
keeping; the HMT140 does not save the pass-
word. If the password is forgotten, contact Vais-
ala Technical Support.
