Operating your Avaya 1230 IP
Deskphone
This section describes how to operate your Avaya 1230 IP Deskphone. It
describes operations such as entering text, making a call, using the
Corporate directory, and using the Redial List.
Entering and editing text
You can enter and edit text on your Avaya 1230 IP Deskphone using the
following methods:

“Using the soft keys” on page 89
Using the telephone dialpad
You can use the dialpad to enter text when you use features such as
Personal Directory, Redial List, and Callers List.
For example, to enter the letter A, press the 2 key once. To enter the
letter C, press the 2 key three times.
Note: No letters are associated with the 1 or the 0 keys.
Using the soft keys
You can use soft keys to edit text when you use features such as
Personal Directory, Redial List and Callers List.
Use the following procedure to edit an entry in your Personal Directory.
1.
Press the
Directory
key.
2.
Select the desired entry from Personal Directory.
3.
Press the
Edit
soft key.
4.
Press the
Left
or
Right
keys to move through the text.
