Concept of the Blade Link Domain (BL870c i4 and BL890c i4)
A collection of blades conjoined, i.e. electrically tied together by QPI fabric through the mechanism
of a Blade Link (BL), is referred to as a Blade Link Domain. The user configures and initializes the
blades within the Blade Link Domain, using the DMP, Domain management processor. The physical
default location for both the DMP, and iLO nPartition configuration menu is on the lowest numbered
blade of the Blade Link Domain (lowest Enclosure bay #). Factory Default configurations are shown
in figure 2, below. The factory default Blade Link Domain configuration will have one single
partition, composed of one monarch blade with any remaining blades assuming the role of an
Auxiliary blade. Note that the Monarch blade will assume a name; e.g. "A", described in the
partition configuration menu in subsequent chapters. All Auxiliary blades associated with the
monarch for the given partition, will assume the same name as the monarch.
