The HP ProLiant Server Management Pack for System Center is composed of several management
packs for HP ProLiant servers:

Hewlett-Packard Servers Core Library
Defines the basic HP Server class structure to support ProLiant Servers Management.

Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Servers Base
Defines the HP ProLiant Server class structure to process primary monitoring to ProLiant servers.
•
Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Servers SNMP Management Pack
Defines the HP Insight Management Agents-based management for states and events.
•
Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Servers WMI Management Pack
Defines the HP Insight Management WBEM Providers-based management for states and events.
Product operation
The HP ProLiant Server Management Pack:
•
Automatically identifies, groups, and displays HP ProLiant Windows servers within the SCOM
console
•
Populates Operations Manager with server attributes and configuration data for HP ProLiant
hardware and software components
•
Monitors and displays the state of HP ProLiant server hardware and the associated management
services
•
Proactively identifies, translates, and displays HP ProLiant hardware events written to the
Windows Event Log as Operations Manager alerts or the installed version of the HP Insight
Management Agents or HP Insight Management WBEM Providers
•
Provides browser-based links to HP management tools for hardware resource management
and advanced remote administration from within the SCOM console
