Installing the MCS-100

WARNING:

The MCS-100 unit and rack are shipped together on a heavy duty shock pallet

weighing approximately 1950 kg (4300 lb). HP recommends hiring professional movers to move
the heavy duty shock pallet, remove the MCS-100 unit and rack from the pallet, and move the
MCS-100 unit and rack to the final location.

CAUTION:

Contaminated water might cause decreased cooling capacity or disruption in

service. The water flowing into the MCS-100 unit must meet the guidelines stated in the HP

Modular Cooling System 200/100 Site Preparation Guide. The MCS-100 warranty does not
cover damage caused by contaminated water.

IMPORTANT:

Because the MCS-100 unit consumes a large quantity of water, do not operate the

MCS-100 unit from a public water system such as one that supplies drinking water. For water

conservation purposes, to cool the MCS-100 unit, use only recycled water systems.

IMPORTANT:

Before you begin the installation process, review the HP Modular Cooling System

200/100 Site Preparation Guide.

1.

Install the HP Modular Cooling System Hook Up Kit.

2.

Read the unpacking instructions on the MCS-100 packaging material.

3.

Using four or more people, remove the MCS-100 unit and rack from the pallet.

4.

Roll the MCS-100 unit and rack to the final location.

WARNING:

To avoid tipping the MCS-100 unit over, make sure the leveling feet are lowered

when the MCS-100 is equipped, serviced, and operated.
