1. Power down the server (on page 27 ).
2. Extend the server from the rack (" Extending the server from the rack " on page 27 ).
3. Remove the access panel (" Removing the access panel " on page 28 ).
4. Open the latch, and remove the expansion slot cover.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
5. Unlock the retaining clip (for full-length expansion boards).
6. Install the expansion board.
7. Lock the retaining clip (for full-length expansion boards), and close the latch.
8. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board.
9. Replace the access panel (" Removing the access panel " on page 28 ).
10. Slide the server into the rack.
11. Power up the server (on page 27 ).
