1 Overview
This guide is intended for system administrators using the HP SCVMM 2012 Console Integration
Kit and other HP applications and tools to manage virtual and physical hardware components in
a Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2012 environment.
The guide is intended for those familiar with the configuration and operation of Microsoft Windows
Server, Microsoft Systems Center Virtual Machine Manager, and HP Virtual Connect (VC). Because
of the potential risk of data loss, only individuals who are experienced with using this software
should implement the procedures described in this guide.
The HP SCVMM 2012 Console Integration Kit provides the following for SCVMM 2012 SP1 with
Update Rollup 1 (UR1) or later:

Support for viewing physical and logical HP Virtual Connect components
The kit contains:

HP Fabric Management Add-in for SCVMM 2012 SP1 with UR1 or later
The HP Fabric Management Add-in extends SCVMM 2012 by adding the capability to view the
physical and logical HP Virtual Connect network from the virtual machines to the external switch
within a single Hyper-V host. The Add-in is run from the SCVMM 2012 console and provides
multiple views of the HP Virtual Connect fabric. The source of information provided is from a
