My printer is connected

with a USB cable through

another USB device or a

hub and when I try to print I

get a message saying

“There was an error writing

to .”

Your printer may not be

getting good data from the

other device or hub.
Two-way communication

between the printer and the

computer was interrupted

by another device attached

to the hub.

Connect the printer directly to the USB port on the computer.

Try disconnecting other USB devices from the hub and print

your document again.

I've connected my printer

using a USB cable, and

when I try to print I get a

message saying “There was

an error writing to Dot4.”
(Windows PC only)

You may not have plugged

your USB cable in before

installing the software.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from your printer and your computer.
2. Remove the printer software and then reinstall it.

Insert the printer software CD into the computer.

Remove HP PhotoSmart 1000 Series software

.

Follow the instructions on your computer screen to uninstall

the software.

3. Reconnect the USB cable to your printer and your computer. The

USB installation dialog should appear on your computer screen.

4. Reinstall the printer software. See the separate software

installation instructions.
