Explosion-Proof Mine Adaptabuzzer
INSTALLATION
WARNING
To prevent electrical shock, ensure power is off before
starting installation.
1.
Mount the Adaptabuzzer assembly securely to a flat surface
in the desired location with (2) screws through the 3/8" (9.5
mm) diameter holes in the housing (Figure 1).
2.
Install wiring through the rubber hose attached to the
Adaptabuzzer.
NOTE: All external wiring connections are to be completed
in MSHA approved junction boxes.
3.
Connect wires using wire nuts (supplied) in accordance
with the applicable local codes.
4.
Connect green ground wire to external ground.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Ensure that all power is off before performing
maintenance.
1.
Inspect the unit at least once a year for damage or wear.
2.
Inspect all electrical and mechanical components for internal
corrosion or wire discoloration.
NOTE: When reassembling fixture, make certain that the
threads and taper joint between housing and brass
cover are clean.

DESCRIPTION
The Edwards Catalog Series B-8140-M and B-8141-M Ex-
plosion-Proof Mine Adaptabuzzers are certified by Mine Safety
& Health Administration (MSHA) and are suitable for use on
permissible mining equipment, Certification #XP-31160. The
Mine Buzzers are constructed of heavy cast aluminum and
can withstand the constant vibrations associated with all types
of mining equipment. AC models are available for stationary
mounting locations in areas exposed to coal dust and methane
gas.
