Mapping Plane with GPS and Conventional
Measurements
Objectives
This tutorial job will teach you:
•
How to use GPS Stake Out.
•
How to calculate combined scale factor for conventional
measurements.
•
How to coordinate conventional measurements on the mapping
plane.
•
How to use COGO functions with the combined scale factor.
Scenario
You need to lay out petroleum well site at coordinates specified in a
US State Plane map projection zone. Some total station
measurements will be used to add points to the project.
Procedure
1.
Open TDSControl_ORNorth.job.
2.
Save this job as TdsControl_OrNorth COPY.job so the original file
is available for the next tutorial.
•
Go to the Job, Settings screen. On the Measure Mode card,
make sure
Store GPS Raw Data
is set to
+ Rx. Raw.
On the
Post Process card make sure recording interval is turned on.
3.
Check the horizontal and vertical projection.
•
Go to Projection from the Survey menu. On the Horizontal
card notice the of the zone record selected for this job file.
Tap
6KRZ 'HWDLOV to review the numeric parameters for this
map projection zone.
•
On the Vertical card notice the geoid model record and file
name used.
•
To select a different map projection, tap
6HOHFW =RQH. On the
Mapping Plane Setup screen, you can select either a map
projection zone or a calibrated site as the new projection
