Step 9 – Once the knives get tight, notice
the shank pressure gauge and its reading.
In good seeding conditions, add an
additional 200 Psi to the system. When
seeding small seeds such as canola in wet
conditions, adding the additional 200Psi is
not recommended. You would tend to over
pack.

NOTE: The chain that is between the seed
and fertilizer knife is tight. You now know
that you are applying the proper amount
of pressure for the current field.

Example of
seed depth
setting at
¾”.

You always want to ensure that you are
maintaining seed and fertilizer separation.

Step 11 – Pull back on your tractor lever that
your red banded hoses are connected to in
order to lift your shanks up while you are
turning around on your headland.

Seed Hawk recommends that you still
check your actual seed and fertilizer
separation in each filed. Soils vary,
moisture conditions vary, and over time
your opener bolts if not tightened on a
yearly basis will function differently from
the original new machine. Your seed

and

fertilizer separation may change.

Step 10 – When turning off your product
on head lands, turn off the packing switch
to do this.

Your Seed Hawk Hydraulic System is
rated to handle over 3000 Psi. All we
require is a maximum of 1500 Psi.
