Introduction
With the purchase of your new Controller you have taken a step forward into
the world of computerized climate control. The Hired Hand System 1000 Power
Vent™ Controller is designed to offer the user a simple, low maintenance
method of ventilation control. We sincerely believe that this system will meet
your individual ventilation needs.
The system includes the following features.
ë Ramping
ë Synchronization
ë Alarms
As the owner of the system, your daily chores will be lightened, because the
system will automatically maintain the correct pressure (for the current outside
temperature) inside the enclosure.
Why maintain constant pressure?
By maintaining enclosure pressure at a constant slight vacuum, we can be
assured that fresh air enters the enclosure at a steady rate from all inlet areas.
Also, if air is entering evenly one can achieve better mixing of outside air with
inside air, giving a more uniform temperature within the enclosure.
The key to insuring that the proper mixing of air takes place is the speed in which
the air enters the house. If cold air is drawn in too slowly, the air will drop to the
floor, causing drafts. To ensure proper air speed a negative pressure setting of
.0400"w.c. is recommended for warmer air to ensure a higher volume of air, and
a negative pressure setting of .1000"w.c. is recommended in colder air to ensure
a lower volume and better mixing of incoming air.
It is important to set the pressure at the appropriate level to ensure maximum
efficiency. Too little vacuum, and the livestock could suffer from the drafting,
and temperature shock. Too much vacuum, and fan efficiency is dramatically
reduced, increasing the levels of moisture, and ammonia in the enclosure, also
driving up electricity costs.
