In the same way as for operation outside areas with danger of explosion, work
can also be carried out within the Ex-area with PROFIBUS-PA with “e” protection
Inherent Safety.
The planning of the non-inherently safe and inherently safe systems takes place
following the same open concept. Field units can be switched together with
various topologies, and be completely supplied via the bus. The units can also
be operated and be connected or disconnected during operation within the
explosion-risk area [1].
