6.2.2 Configuring PPPoE for WAN
To configure PPPoE settings
1. Select PPPoE from the Connection Mode drop-down list as shown in
Figure 6.1.
2. (Optional) Enter the host name if required by your ISP.
3. If you are connecting to the Internet using PPPoE, you probably only
have to enter User Name and Password in the PPPoE Configuration
page as shown in Figure 6.1, unless you want to use your preferred
DNS servers.
4. (Optional) Enter the IP addresses for the primary and secondary DNS
servers if you want to use your preferred DNS servers. Otherwise, skip
this step.
5. Choose a connection option and enter the appropriate setting if desired.
The default setting is “Disable”.
6. Click <
Apply> to save the PPPoE settings when you are done with the
configuration. You will see a summary of the WAN configuration at the
bottom half of the configuration page. The default gateway address
is not shown immediately. Click on the
WAN menu to open the WAN
configuration page again.
