Navistar Reverse Air - D404-RA Models
In late 1996, Navistar made a significant change to their vehicle air system which allowed them to change from their traditional “Reverse Air”
axle lockout configuration to the industry standard “Straight Air”. The redesigned D404 axles built after 11/2/98 do not have a “Reverse Air”
option. In March 2006, Dana discontinued offering all “Reverse Air” D404 family carriers. The base carrier/cap body necessary to build these
types of carriers are no longer available. Customers will need to find rebuilt product or consider retrofitting their vehicle to a conventional air
system.
Navistar Reverse Air - D402 Models - Kit# 107621 and 96919
In July 2004, Dana discontinued making Reverse-Air design carriers from the D402 Family Axles. To convert any D341, D402(P), and D451P
models from a standard air lockout configuration to a “Reverse-Air” configuration, order the service kit shown below. You would simply need
to convert the Air Lockout parts located in the power divider section of the forward axle with this kit. For more information, refer to Dana
Bulletin ABIB-0408.

Seasonal Engagement Kit for Two-Speed Axles - Kit# 122680
Dana offers a seasonal engagement kit for two speed, controlled traction and plantary reduction design carriers. The seasonal engagement
kit P/N 122680 can be used to convert several model types into non-shiftable axles by locking the axles sliding clutch into either the high or
lowend ratio. Several service carriers are now offered only as two-speeds but using this kit then allows them to be used for plantary double
reduction axle applications. Refer to the model listing below.

IASS Models
On September 7, 2005, Dana discontinued the DA/RA402 carrier models. On March 28, 2006 Dana DA/RA404 carrier models are also
discontinued by Dana. Individual components may still be available through normal parts channels. As a replacement option, customers can
convert to standard (DS/RS402 or DS/RS404) and retrofit the vehicle system to a wheel end sensing configuration. Customers should contact
their OEM engineering departments for further detailed requirements.
