Assemble Drive Pinion
NOTE:
Lubricate parts with gear lube
during reassembly. When installing bearing
cones and pilot bearing, use properly-sized
sleeves that only contact the inner
bearing race.

Before installing cups, check for burrs on
bearing surfaces and remove. Press bearing
cups in cage.
2.
Press pilot bearing on pinion. Stake
bearing using staking tool. See illustration
for stake pattern.

. Perform Trial Build-Up Pinion Preload
Test following procedures on next page.
