Indicates 406 or 121.5 MHz output power is low
Open or short condition on antenna
output or coax cable
Check coax cable and connections
Check antenna for proper installation
Impedance presented by antenna
Lengthen or shorten antenna coax cable
length by 4 to 6 inches
Transmitter module faulty
(frequency out of limits)
Cannot be repaired in field - Return to
factory for servicing
5-Flash
Indicates there is no navigation position data present (long message protocol only)
ELT programmed with a long message
format.
Reprogram to short message or ignore
error code. 5 flash code does not indicate
a hard failure and does not affect
airworthiness of unit.
6-Flash
Indicates G-Switch loop between pins 5 and 12 is not present
Jumper open
Verify D-Sub connector jumper is installed
by checking for less than 1Ω between pins
5 and 12. Repair as necessary.
Jumper missing
Install D-Sub jumper between pins 5 and
12 in D-Sub connector.
7-Flash
Indicates a battery problem
Operating time is >1 hour
Replace battery pack
Electrical circuits faulty
