"REC UNREAD" - new received message unread
"REC READ" - received message read
"STO UNSENT" - message stored not yet sent
"STO SENT" - message stored already sent
- first octet of the message PDU

- message status as coded in the PDU

• If indicates that GSM03.38 default alphabet is used , each character of GSM alphabet will

be converted into current TE character set (see +CSCS)

• If indicates that 8-bit or UCS2 data coding scheme is used, each 8-bit octet will be

converted into two IRA character long hexadecimal number (e.g. octet 0x2A will be converted as
two characters 0x32 0x41)

NOTE: in both cases if status of the message is 'received unread', status in the storage changes to
'received read'.

NOTE: an error result code is sent on empty record .
