Using as PC camera
On a PC running Windows XP, Windows Vista,
Windows 7 or Mac OS, you can use the recorder as
a PC camera.
To Use the Recorder as a PC Camera

In the recorder's [USB Settings], set
[USB Class] into [PC Camera] (
☞ P.88).

Connect the recorder to your PC
(
☞ P.94).
• The live image is displayed on the main LCD
of the recorder during PC camera operation.
• To adjust the zoom and volume while
shooting, press the recorder's + or – buttons
when the PC camera is active.
The screen will switch between zoom and
volume by pressing the
`OK button.
• To adjust the recording level while shooting,
press the recorder's
9 or 0 buttons
when the PC camera is active.

Notes
• Only movies (video and audio) can be
distributed. Just audio cannot be distributed.
• When you use the recorder as a PC camera, the
camera can shoot 30 frames per second but
the actual number of frames may be inferior
depending on the connection and/or the PC
processing speed.
• When the recorder is used as PC camera, resolution
size will be set to [640x480 30fps], and the sound
to PCM format (16kHz).
• When the recorder is used as PC camera, [Rec
Monitor] will be set to [On](
☞ P.69) and cannot be
changed.
• The recorder's input level cannot be changed
via software. To change the input level, set the
[Rec Level] to [Manual](
☞ P.68) and operate the
changes directly on the recorder.
