Self Timer
A n
The self-timer function allows a certain amount of
time to elapse after you press the REC (
s) button
and then starts recording or shooting. Set this
function according to the purpose of recording or
shooting.
[Off]:
Disables this function.
[beep 5sec]:
A beep tone sounds and the PEAK/LED indicator
light flashes from 5 seconds before. The
flashing speed increases from 3 seconds before
recording or shooting starts.
[beep 12sec]:
A beep tone sounds and the PEAK/LED indicator
light flashes from 12 seconds before. The
flashing speed increases from 3 seconds before
recording or shooting starts.
[metalic5sec]:
A rhythm count tone sounds and the PEAK/LED
indicator light flashes from 5 seconds before.
The flashing speed increases from 3 seconds
before recording or shooting starts.
[metalic12sec]:
A rhythm count tone sounds and the PEAK/LED
indicator light flashes from 12 seconds before.
The flashing speed increases from 3 seconds
before recording or shooting starts.
Notes
• To cancel the self-timer after it starts press the
STOP (
4) button.
• Self-timer shooting is automatically canceled
after one shot.
• When the [LED] setting is set to [Off], the LED
does not flash during self-timer operation. After
the time set for the self-timer elapses, recording
or shooting starts automatically (
☞ P.77).
• When the [Beep] setting is set to [Off], beep
does not sound during self-timer operation.

Rec Monitor
A n
Select whether or not to output audio from the
earphone jack while recording.
[On]:
Enables the recording monitor function. Sound
will be output from the EAR jack.
[Off]:
Disables this function. Sound will not be output
from the EAR jack.
Note
• When the external speaker is connected while
recording, there is a risk that audio feedback
will occur. It is recommended that you use
earphones for the recording monitor, or turn
[Rec Monitor] to [Off] while recording.
Plug-inPower
A n
External microphones which are supported by
plug in power can also be used. Whether or not
to supply power to external microphones can be
configured.
[On]:
When the plug-in power function is activated,
power will be supplied to the connected
external microphone. Select this when external
microphones supported by plug-in power are
connected (
☞ P.40).
[Off]:
Disables this function. Select this when external
microphones not supported by plug-in power
are connected.
Notes
• When the [Input Jack] setting is set to [Line],
the plug in power function is disabled.
• Turn the plug-in power function to [Off] when
an external microphone not supported by plug-
in power is connected, as there is the risk that
noise may be generated while recording.
• Phantom power cannot be supplied, even when
the plug in power function is set to [On].
