The Basics
Reading the Base Display
The base display uses icons to tell you the status of your phone.
The table below lists the icons and what they mean.
Icon Status Description
Talk
The telephone icon appears while
the line is in use.

The privacy icon appears when
Privacy mode is turned on.

The call record icon appears while
recording a conversation.

The mute icon appears when you
mute the base.
Standby
The NEW MESSAGE icon appears
when a new message is received.

The ANSWER OFF icon appears
when the answering machine is
turned off.

The FULL icon appears when the
memory on the answering machine
is full.

The Announce ONLY icon appears
when the answering machine is set
to announce only greeting.
