activating and charging your battery pack

Your phone’s handset comes with a rechargeable nickel metal

hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack already installed.

Before charging the battery for the first time, push the pin for activation,

located on the bottom of the handset (see label with instructions).

Once activated, remove the label, and then place the handset in the

base unit to charge.

replacing your battery pack

Unscrew your battery compartment cover and remove the old battery

pack.

Plug the replacement battery connectors (red and black wires) into

the small, black jack inside the battery compartment. They fit only one

way.

Replace your battery cover. To ensure it is securely connected, insert

the bottom first.

using your cordless phone

making and receiving calls

To make a call:

Pick up the handset.

Press TALK/ FLASH.

Listen for the dial tone and dial the

number.

OR

Pick up the handset and dial the number.

Then press TALK/FLASH.

To receive a call:

If Auto Talk is on, just pick up the handset; and, if Auto Talk is off,

pick up the handset and press TALK/FLASH.

connecting your phone

Plug one end of the supplied long

modular cord into the TEL LINE jack.

Insert the supplied AC adapter’s

barrel plug into the DC IN 9V jack on

the bottom of the base and route the

adapter’s cord through the strain relief

slot on the base.

Plug the other end of the modular cord

into a modular phone line jack.

Plug the adapter into a standard AC

outlet.

If the handset is off the base and Auto Talk is on, press

TALK/FLASH, any number, /TONE/< or #/>. Or, if Auto Talk is off,

press

TALK/FLASH. Refer to page 16 of your User’s Guide for more

information on the Auto Talk feature.

Notes

• Do not plug your phone into the phone line while charging.
• Charge your phone for 15-20 hours without interruption.
