Appendix

Error Messages

If an error message is displayed on the LCD monitor or LCD panel, follow the
procedures below.

Error Message

CARD ERROR

Insufficient memory

UNMATCHED FILE

NO FILE

No card

Cannot open the file

Cannot open the file

On-screen keypad error

Cannot reset the system

Format failed

Failed to save Keypad memo

Pen-memo Error: memory over
Select ERASE ALL, SAVE or CANCEL

Too many pen-memo data in memory

File number exceeded limit

No file for DPOF setting

Standard Print Number over
Select image and set Standard Print
Number to 0.

DPOF file set error

DPOF file read error

Remedy

This type of card is not supported by the camera. Use another
type of card.

Card memory or internal memory is full and no more files can be
recorded. Erase unwanted files or use another card.

Unplayable file was selected.

No recorded files in specified folder. Change folder or select
storage memory that contains files.

Card of selected type not found. Insert card.

Recorded file cannot be displayed. Return to previous screen and
repeat operation. If file is still not displayed, switch power off and
repeat operation.

Recorded file cannot be saved. Check available capacity of
storage memory and repeat operation. If image still cannot be
saved, switch power off and repeat operation.

On-screen keypad cannot be displayed. Repeat operation. If
keypad is still not displayed, switch power off and repeat
operation.

Switch off power again. If camera is still not reset, remove battery
and switch power on, then reload battery and repeat operation.

Repeat format operation again. If storage memory still cannot be
formatted, problem lies with storage memory. Use another
storage memory.

Failed to save keypad memo. Repeat operation.

Erase or save all pen memos, or cancel pen memo operation.

No more pen memos can be saved. Delete unwanted memos
before saving.

File number exceeded limit. Delete unnecessary files or use
another memory card.

There is no image file for setting DPOF in folder. Select folder
including image files.

Number of specified images has exceeded limit. Reduce number
of specified images.

DPOF settings cannot be saved. Delete all unnecessary files
before repeating operation. If message still appears, memory may
be damaged. Make a backup file of files saved in memory and
format memory.

DPOF settings are unreadable. Reset all DPOF settings before
repeating operation. If message still appears, memory may be
damaged. Make a backup file of files saved in madia and format
memory.

Note

• If the error message continues to be displayed after the above

procedures have been followed, open the terminal cover and press the
reset switch (P.6) with the tip of a propelling pencil or similar object.
The settings will return to the factory default settings.
If the error message is still displayed, contact the store where
purchased or your nearest Ricoh service office.
