Formatting Disks
Floppy disks must first be “formatted” (initialized) before they can be used
by the AT-5 to store data. “Formatting” is the process of erasing any data
which may have been on the disk and making the format of the floppy disk
match the format of the device. The AT-5 cannot use a floppy disk that has
a format differing from its own format.
