Using T9
®
Mode
T9 Word recognizes commonly used words for the numeric
sequence of key presses and inserts the word into your message.
T9 Word is much faster than the traditional method of text entry
(Abc) and requires only one key press per letter of the word that
you’re spelling.
1.
While composing a text message, press the Left soft
key. Use the Navigation key to highlight T9Word, then
press .
2.
For practice, enter the word “Samsung” by pressing
each of the following keys only once:
T9 Word recognizes that the most commonly used word
for the numeric sequence you just entered is
“Samsung.” If more than one word shares the same
numeric sequence, T9 Word provides the most
commonly used word. Press to display other words, if
available.
Note: To enter a space, press the
key. To enter a period, press the
key.
These key functions apply to both T9 Word and Abc modes. (For other
symbols, see “Entering Symbols” on page 29.)
Using Abc Mode
1.
While composing a text message, press the Left soft
key. Use the Navigation key to highlight Abc or ABC, then
press .
2.
Enter characters while in Abc mode by pressing a key
repeatedly until the desired character appears in the
display.
Example: Press
once for “G” and twice for “H”.
3.
Pause briefly and the displayed character is accepted
and inserted into your message.
4.
Press
to enter a space and press
to enter a
period.
Entering Numbers
Enter numbers into a text message while in 123 mode.
1.
While composing a text message, press the Left soft
key. Use the Navigation key to highlight 123, then press
.
2.
Enter numbers while in 123 mode by pressing the key
labeled with the corresponding number that you wish to
insert into your message.
