4.35 TROUBLESHOOTING-cont'd.
CAUSE

Water/dirt in fuel.
Choke remains on. (Gas Only)
Carburetor improperly adjusted. (Gas
Only)
Dirty fuel injectors. (Diesel Only)
Injection pump drawing in air. (Diesel
Only)
Objects in front of drums.
Unit in bypass.
Loose or broken forward/reverse linkage.
Loose or broken chain.
Loose or broken transmission belts.
Low hydraulic oil.
Improperly adjusted forward/reverse
linkage.
Engine not properly warmed up.
Low hydraulic oil level.
Plugged hydraulic filter.
Insufficient belt tension.
Engine RPM too low.
Drain fuel system.
Adjust choke cable.
Clean choke linkage.
Adjust as per Engine Manual.
Service or replace.
Check fuel lines or replace.
Remove.
Check bypass valve.
Readjust linkage or replace worn arm
linkage.
Make sure chain is on sprocket. Adjust
tension or replace if chain shows
excessive war.
Replace and/or tighten.
Check oil level gauge. Add if required.
Adjust linkage so that lever travel is the
same in either direction from neutral.
Idle before operating to achieve operating
temperature.
Add.
Replace.
Check and adjust belts.
Check throttle linkage for proper
actuation (3100 RPM Gas/2600 Diesel).

PROBLEM
Engine starts but does not keep running.
Roller won't move forward or reverse.
Unit lacks power moving forward --but
okay in reverse or vice versa.
Unit lacks power.
