• Five models make up John Deere’s line of Select
Series ™ X300 Tractors. These high quality tractors
provide the customer with both maneuverabililty
and toughness.
• John Deere iTorque ™ Power Systems with V-twin
air-cooled engines with 17-, 22-, or
25-horsepower* power X300 Series Tractors.
• The iTorque Power System includes a combination
of engine features and exclusive hood design
that provide more lugging ability, even cooling,
and durability.
• Engines feature premium components for excellent
reliability and long engine life. Included are cast-
iron cylinder liners, overhead valves, full-pressure
lubrication with replaceable oil fi lter, and dual-stage
air fi lter.
• Fully regulated 15 amp electrical system
provides quick, reliable starts. It also powers the
standard headlights and electric PTO clutch.
• All models use John Deere’s exclusive Twin
Touch automatic drive system. Dual foot pedals
allow the operator to easily select tractor speed
and direction while keeping both hands on the
steering wheel for maximum productivity.
• 4-wheel steering on the X304 and X324 allow
these models to turn even tighter to easily trim
around trees and bushes.
• Heavy-Duty CargO ™ Mounts make installation of
the 7-bushel material collection hopper easy.
• Welded frame is made of 3-mm thick steel for
excellent strength and reliability. A heavy-duty
cast-iron front axle pivots at the center and
oscillates to keep all wheels on the ground when
traveling over uneven terrain.
• Metal bushings are used at the steering spindles
to provide easy steering. A grease cavity between
the bushings provides continuous lubrication
during operation.
• Sector-and-pinion steering and a tight 16-inch-
turning radius provide superb handling.
• Operator controls are color-coded and identifi ed
with English words for easy identifi cation and
logically placed for easy use.
• A comfortable, 15-inch seat provides a cushioned
ride and good support for the operator. The open
back design allows air to circulate and keep the
operator’s back cool.
• The seat can be easily adjusted fore and aft
7 inches. The unique seat suspension system
uses two adjustable coil springs to give the
operator a smooth, stable ride.
• A lift-assist spring (optional on tractors shipped
with 38- and 42-in. mowers) is coupled with a
foot-pedal lift system to make raising the mower
and other implements both convenient and easy.
The spring can be adjusted to accommodate
different implements. The lift system allows mower
cutting heights from 1 to 4 inches.
• X300 Series Tractors come with one of fi ve versatile
Edge Xtra mower decks. Key features include
¼-inch cut-height increments, 4-point mounting,
and wider wheels.
• Cruise control is standard on all models.
• For those who want the ability to convert their
mower to mulching or to rear-bagging, the Edge
Xtra side-discharge mowers will be the ones to
consider. Available in widths of 38-, 42-, 48- and
54 inches, each of these mowers offer excellent
cutting performance and easy convertibility.
• For dedicated mulching, the 42-inch Edge Xtra
mulching mower has removable gates that allow
adjustment for an even, clump-free fi nish in any
condition.
• Mower decks feature Quik-Tatch ™ mounting,
wash port, greaseable spindles, powder paint,
and many other high-quality components to
ensure long, trouble-free use.
Revolutionary 42-inch Edge™ Mulch Deck is
a dedicated mulcher that features removable
gates for severe mulching conditions. V-belt
drive and non-timed blades give smooth
operation and reliable performance.
