Pressing the keys on the control panel displays the corresponding menus as shown below.

The shadow generated in the
center of the open book is
masked. [Auto Set] can be
selected in Book mode to
detect the center of the
original. The center of the
original is regarded as the
center of the book table when
[Cent Set] is selected. The
shadow masking width can be
set from 2.5 to 20 mm (in 2.5
mm increments).
Select Book mode when
scanning the thick original
(book), and Sheet mode when
scanning a single-page
document.
