Assignment Using RARP

Power Off the Intermate1xx. If the unit is attached to a printer,
it is best that the printer is powered On.

Add the following lines to the [ /etc/ethers ] file or
[ /etc/rarpd.cf ] file: Note that the MAC address is written
with colons : as separators between every two characters.
[ /etc/ethers ] file

Update your host table and alias name data
bases.

Start the RARP daemon, if it is not already
running.
rarpd -a

Make sure the Intermate1xx is attached to the LAN and
power it on.

Connect and Login to the unit with the tool of your choice.

Choose [TCP/IP].
a
Disable BOOTP and check to be sure that
DHCP is still disabled.

If it is not possible for Intermate1xx to obtain
the mask from the network, you must type in a
Subnet Mask.

If automatic routing (RIP) is not used in your
environment, type in the Default Gateway.
