9.5.2 Additions and Changes
Version 9.5.2 of the LSI RAID software and firmware provides the following
features and benefits to the 3ware 9650SE and 9690SA model RAID
controllers.
• Read cache settings let you enable either Basic Read Caching or
Intelligent Read Caching.
• Background task mode provides low latency settings to improve
performance in video and audio applications.
• Enclosure alarm support allows you to turn off or mute audio alarms in
supported enclosures that provide alarms.
• Support for 256 KB stripe size for RAID 6
• Support for 3DM 2 in OpenSolaris allows RAID unit creation and
management through the 3DM 2 web interface.
• Support for secure email when using 3DM 2 email notification.
In addition, some minor changes have been made to default settings and
screens. For details, see “Other Changes in 9.5.2” on page 16.
Supported Operating Systems and Platforms
Version 9.5.2 of the LSI RAID software and firmware is supported under the
following operating systems:
• Windows

. Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008,
and Vista, (32-bit and 64-bit versions of each).
• Linux

. Redhat, SuSE, both 32-bit and 64-bit.
• FreeBSD

. Both 32-bit and 64-bit.
• VMware. ESX 3.x Server
• OpenSolaris
