Test Alert Signals
In most of the USA the National Weather Service (NWS) broadcasts a test alert
signal every Wednesday between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. To find out the exact
test schedule in your area you can call your local NOAA or NWS office.
You can find the telephone numbers in you local telephone directory under
“US Government, Department of Commerce”.
When the test alert signal is received your radio will ‘beep’ and you will see a
message such as:
REQUIRED WEEKLY TEST
REQUIRED MONTHLY TEST
SYSTEM DEMO
NATIONAL PERIODIC TEST
As the NWS adds new alert capabilities your CKW2000 is set to receive them and
alert you automatically with no modifications.
