Select Alert Mode (Siren or Siren/Voice)
When the SIREN mode is selected and an alert is received, the Siren will continue
for approximately 5 minutes and then shut off automatically. To stop the Siren
sooner, press the ALERT OFF/ALM 2 button.
When the VOICE mode is selected and an alert is received the Siren will sound for
about 8 seconds and then the weather broadcast will turn on and continue for
about 5 minutes.
To change the Alert Mode, make sure the radio is “Off’, and then:
• Press the MENU button and then press the
or Navigation buttons until the LCD is
showing “ALERT MODE” and the current
setting.
• Press the SELECT button. The current setting
flashes. Then press the or Navigation
buttons to switch between SIREN and VOICE
settings.
When the desired setting is flashing press the
MENU button to confirm the setting and exit
the menu mode.
The LCD returns to the Time and Date display
but the indicator for the selected setting
remains at the bottom of the display.
NOTE: If you selected VOICE alert mode
both the SIREN and VOICE indicators
remain ‘On’.
