Sandy Bridge CPU PPM Configuration
In this section, you can configure the CPU Processor Power
Management.
EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology)
It allows you to enable or disable the EIST.
Option Description
Enable The operating system
controls the CPU speed
Disabled The CPU runs at its de-
fault speed.
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® technology (EIST) allows the
system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core
frequency, which can result in decreased average power
consumption and decreased average heat production.
There are some system requirements must be met,
including CPU, chipset, motherboard, BIOS and operation
