Transition failure during reading or writing of data EEPROM,
the data is not essential for safe operation - this failure does
not effect performance.

Data EEPROM defective, device is set to permanent disable
due to the fact that the data loss affects important functions of
the inverter. Contact SMA for assistance.

Grid monitoring self-test failed. Contact SMA for assistance.

The internal test of the Sunny Boy control system firmware
failed. Contact SMA for assistance.

Watchdog

Watchdog for operation control triggered. Contact SMA for
assistance.

Communication between micro-controllers is failing. Contact
SMA for assistance.

Internal over current continuous. Contact SMA for assistance.

The earth current between PV+ and GND has exceeded the
maximum limit. Check the PV array for ground faults.

The earth current between PV+ and GND has exceeded the
maximum limit. Check the PV array for ground faults.

Ope

The GFDI-Fuse is open or cleared. Check the PV array for
ground faults before replacing the fuse.

Derating

The inverter is derating because of high temperature. Verify
that the fans are operating normally and that the intake
screens are clean. Check the intake vents for debris. Verify
that there is adequate ventilation around the inverter. This
condition may be normal in periods of high ambient temper-
atures (above 45°).

_F

High transformer temperature. The inverter will remain
stopped until the transformer has cooled.

XFMR_TEMP
_W

High transformer temperature is gone. The SB3800U starts
working and shows the failure “XFMR_TEMP_W“. Verify that
the fans are operating normally and that the intake screens
are clean. Check the intake vents for debris. Verify that there
is adequate ventilation around the inverter. This condition
may be normal in periods of high ambient temperatures
(above 45°).
