Next add the license to the SabreTooth License Manager.
Adding a license
Your software license,
Licenses_
, is provided as a text file. Use
the License Manager to add this file to your system and enable the desired feature.
1. Click on the License Manager icon on the Windows Desktop.
The SabreTooth License Manager opens.
2. Do one of the following:
•
Choose
File | Import License
and navigate to the file location to open the text
file.
•
Drag and drop the text file onto the License Manager.
You will now see the permanent license in SabreTooth, as well as any other
licenses, permanent or temporary, that have been installed on this machine.
You should save the permanent license to a backup system.
Enable SabretoothWS service
Do this task on the K2 system that is your Sabretooth licensing server for access to
stand-alone K2 systems.
1. Open the Windows
Services
control panel.
2. Right-click
Grass Valley SabretoothWS
, open
Properties
and click the
General
tab.
3. Set Startup Type to
Automatic
.
4. Click
OK
to save settings and close.
Add Macintosh systems to K2 system hosts file
1. On a K2 system, open the hosts file in a text editor.
2. Following the convention in the hosts file, enter text in one line for each Final Cut
Pro Macintosh system as follows:
a) On a text line, type a Macintosh system's control network IP address.
b) Use the TAB key or Space bar to insert a few spaces.
c) On that same text line after the space, type the machine name, such as
MacClient01.
The machine name cannot have any spaces in it.
This sets up the host file for resolving the machine name on the control network.
