Holding the ejector levers of the interface card with both hands, pull the ejector levers outward,
and pull the interface card part way out of the slot along the slide rails. Support the bottom of the
interface card with one hand, and gently pull the interface card out of the slot with the other hand.
3.
Put the removed interface card (with the circuit board facing upward) on an antistatic workbench
or into an antistatic bag.
4.
If you do not install a new interface card in the slot, install a filler panel.

(1) Loosen the captive screws
(2) Pull the ejector levers outward
(3) Pull the card out of the slot
Replacing a transceiver module
WARNING!
Do not stare into the optical fiber. The laser light emitted from the optical fiber might hurt your eyes.
When you replace a transceiver module, make sure the two transceiver modules connected by the same
optical fiber are the same type. Do not touch the golden finger of the transceiver module.

To replace a transceiver module:
1.
Use the shutdown command in interface view at the CLI to shut down the optical source before you
remove the fiber connector.
2.
Remove the LC connectors with the optical fiber from the transceiver module, and install dust caps
to the LC connectors.
3.
Pivot the clasp of the transceiver module down to the horizontal position, and gently pull the
transceiver module out.
