NOTE:
•
In IGMP snooping view, the configuration is effective for all VLANs. In VLAN view, the configuration is
effective for only the ports that belong to the current VLAN. For a given VLAN, the configuration made
in IGMP snooping view is not effective if you make the same configuration in VLAN view.
• In IGMP snooping view, the configuration is effective for all ports. In Ethernet interface view or Layer 2
aggregate interface view, the configuration is effective for only the current port. In port group view, the
configuration is effective for only all ports in the current port group. For a given port, the configuration
made in IGMP snooping view is not effective if you make the same configuration in Ethernet interface
view, Layer 2 aggregate interface view or port group view.
• For IGMP snooping, the configuration on a Layer 2 aggregate interface does not interfere with that on
its member ports, nor does the configuration takes part in aggregation calculations. The configuration
on a member port of the aggregate group will take effect after it leaves the aggregate group.
Configuring basic functions of IGMP snooping
Configuration prerequisites
Before you configure the basic functions of IGMP snooping, complete the following tasks:
• Configure the corresponding VLANs
• Determine the version of IGMP snooping
Enabling IGMP snooping
Follow these steps to enable IGMP snooping:
