The Optional M7140 Tethered Scanner
The M7140 has an optional handheld tethered scanner. This scanner is attached through the
serial port. Most serial scanners require an additional power supply.
Installing an Optional Tethered Scanner
In order to install the Optional Tethered Scanner for the M7140 you must follow these steps.
1. The scanner type must be a decoded serial keyboard wedge.
2. The scanner must have its own external power supply.
3. The serial port must be set to “scanner”.
