When connecting local area bridging or routing devices to a T1 network, other
CSU/ DSUs are out of the LAN management loop. With the Ethernet or Token
Ring management option, the critical T1 connection point is under control of the
existing SNMP management system, providing seamless integration of LAN and
WAN, and eliminating the need for a separate CSU/DSU management system.
