1. SUMMERY OF COMPONENTS: (refer to block diagram B-1 for detail):
A/B INPUT/OUTPUT TERMINALS:
Input and Output power connections are made at the terminals located beneath the
Transformer.
C TVSS:
Meets UL 1449 Third Edition, 50kA surge capacity.
D MANUAL BYPASS SWITCH (Regulation only):
The bypass switch is located behind the front panel. This switch bypasses voltage
regulation but maintains the functioning of the voltage change/isolation
between input and output.
The bypass switch is a “break-before make” switch. (Note: Unit must be powered off before
operating this switch).
E AUTO BYPASS SWITCH:
Will provide output power to critical load in case of malfunction, one contactor will be De-
Energized and the other will close to bypass the electronics upon conditions such as over
temperature, SCR fail, Input over load/under voltage, None latching.
F INPUT/OUTPUT FILTER:
The Input filter is installed on the primary side of the transformer. The input filter consists of a
resistor/capacitor network which acts as a large snubber circuit to eliminate high frequency
impulses from entering the power system.
The Output filter is installed on the transformer secondary. It consists of a capacitor network
which prevents noise from being fed back to the unit from noise generating loads.
G REGULATION:
Regulation is a Solid state electronic, 6 tap (per phase) switching regulation system, it
uses SCR technology, it responses to a change in the input voltage.
H ALARM MONITOR CKT:
It will monitor conditions such as over temp. SCR fail, input over current.
K POWER MONITOR RELAY:
It will monitor Input-under voltage/phase loss, over voltage, (customer connection terminal
block), Multifunction Voltage relay Bender part no. VMD421 H-D-3.
ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION:
J MAIN TRANSFORMER:
TYPE: Dry isolation type, Quad shield, K-13,Copper wound, 130°C temp rise.
EFFICIENCY: 96%.
IMP: < 4%.
INPUT VOLTAGE REGULATION: +10% to –26% of nominal.
OUTPUT VOLTAGE REGULATION: ± 3% typical ± 4% maximum.
AUDIBLE NOISE: Meets or exceeds NEMA standards.
