WHEN PERFORMING ANY ADJUSTMENT OR MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST FIRST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE,
SET THE PARKING BRAKE, WAIT FIVE (5) MINUTES TO ALLOW PARTS TO COOL AND DISCONNECT THE
SPARK PLUG WIRE(S), KEEPING IT AWAY FROM THE SPARK PLUG(S).

AUSE
The Mower Blades
will not engage.
⇒ You are not holding the Operator Presence Lever against the Handle.
⇒ The Engine to Deck Belt is broken or out of adjustment. See pages 29 and 31.
⇒ The Clutch wires are broken or disconnected. Re-connect the wires or call 1-800-
DR-OWNER (376-9637)
for assistance.
⇒ The Clutch is defective. Call 1-800-DR-OWNER (376-9637)
for assistance.
The Blade Deck
vibrates when
engaged.
⇒ A Blade may not be seated properly on its Hub. Loosen the Blade Bolt, reseat the
Blade, and tighten the Bolt. Be sure to turn OFF the Engine and remove the
Spark Plug Wire(s) before performing this operation.
⇒ Replace a Blade if it is chipped, bent, or broken.
⇒ A Spindle Bearing may be bad or a Spindle Shaft is bent.
Call 1-800-DR-OWNER (376-9637) for assistance.
A Blade is not
cutting or is loose.
⇒ The Blade may not be seated properly on the hub. Loosen the Blade Bolt, reseat
the Blade, and tighten the Bolt. Be sure to turn OFF the Engine and remove the
Spark Plug Wire(s) before performing this operation.
⇒ Sharpen the Blade; it may be dull or nicked.
The machine will
not track straight,
wheels pulling left or
right.
⇒ Check the Tire pressure. There should be 10 psi in each Tire.
⇒ The Hydro Tracking might be out of adjustment. See page 37.
The Mower “creeps”
with the Control
Handles at rest.
⇒ The Neutral Setting is out of adjustment. See page 39.
The Mower is not
cutting evenly.
⇒ The Deck is not level. See page 35.
⇒ The Mower ground speed is too fast. Reduce the speed. See Tips on page 21.
⇒ The Mower Deck is clogged. Shut the Engine OFF, remove the Spark Plug
Wire(s), and clean the underside of the Deck.
⇒ The Tire pressures are incorrect. There should be 10 psi in all Tires.
