3. To ensure that the Hose has the proper length, turn the Tractor all the way to the left, while
watching the Hose. The Hose should not become too taut to move or damage your Lawn Deck
Adapter. If the Trailer Tongue is able to contact the Hitch Plate, without stressing the Hose or
Lawn Deck Adapter, the Hose is of sufficient length (Figure 23).
4. Attach the Hose Support Lanyard loosely, with the supplied white plastic Cable Tie, in the center of
the Vacuum Hose.
5. To ensure that the Hose will not drag on the ground, turn the Tractor to the right while watching
the Hose. If the supplied Hose Support Lanyard is not sufficient to prevent the Hose from kinking
or dragging on the ground, reduce the length of the Hose. First, remove the Hose Clamp with a
screwdriver at the inlet of the Blower and cut the Hose to the length required using Wire Cutters to
cut the spiral and then cut the Hose with the razor knife. If the Trailer Tongue is able to contact the
Hitch Plate, without allowing the Hose to kink or drag on the ground, the Hose has sufficient
support (Figure 23).
NOTE: If a tighter turning radius is required, and there is enough Hose length to accommodate this, the
supplied Hitch Extender may be used (Figure 24). The Hitch Extender is most useful when using
your DR LEAF and LAWN VACUUM as a Trailer to obtain maximum maneuverability when not
concerned about Hose length.
