2. A “Null Modem” RS 232 cable. This cable must connect the “COM 2" port on your computer
with the “modem” connector on the Wyse terminal. Check the connector on your “COM 2"
port to see which connector you will need for your particular computer. The Wyse terminal
requires a male 25-pin connector. These cables can be purchased from Chrondek, or most
commercial computer supply companies. A cable can also be made using the pin connections
described below.

3. You also need to make sure that your computer has a “COM 2" port. If it doesn’t, a personal
computer supplier can usually install one for you.
An IBM PC or compatible computer running a terminal emulation program such as
“Procomm” (Version 2.1) can also be used as an announcer’s monitor. To use this option, an
IBM PC or compatible computer with at least one comm port may be used. Older PC models
will usually fill this requirement. A terminal emulation program such as “Procomm” (Version
2.1) must also be purchased and installed on the computer. This program must have a Wyse
emulation mode.
