Aspect Ratio is related to Active
Format Descriptor (AFD). It is
recommended to set AFD to WSS if
Aspect Ratio is WSS.

AFD Active Format Descriptor is data
that can be sent in a MPEG video
stream that provides information
about the aspect ratio and picture
characteristics within the stream.
AFD compatible display or STB/IRD
is required. AFD is related to
Aspect Ratio. Aspect Ratio defines
pixel aspect ratio as encoded. AFD
is used by downstream decoding
devices to properly display pixel
aspect ratio on displays with
differing aspect ratios.
