Symbol Table
The window for the Symbol Table is located above the JUMP button. The Symbol Table can
be loaded only under the following conditions:
1. A file has been downloaded into Code Memory.
2. The Debug window is selected; otherwise, the command is not accessible.
Once these requirements are satisfied, the Symbol Table command can be executed from
the File menu.
For more information on symbol formats, refer to "Load Symbol", which is previously
discussed in the "File" menu section of this chapter.
WINDOW REFRESHING
When you make a change in the Z8 Code Memory window, the code view in the Z8 Debug
window will be updated automatically. When you run a program from the Z8 Debug
window, the Z8 Status window will be updated automatically at each step, halt, or
breakpoint. All the other windows (Z8 Register, Z8 Extended Register, Z8 Code Memory,
Z8 Data Memory, DSP Memory) will not be updated automatically when the program runs.
To refresh the window display to reflect the current hardware values, double click the
caption bar of each window.
SAVING SESSIONS/RELOADING "SAVED" SESSIONS
You can save a session and reload a “saved” session. Selecting “Save session” saves the
information about the position of the opened windows, downloaded Z8 code file, font size
used, and debug flags such as “Trace” and “Animation”. Not all windows reappear upon
reloading of a "Saved" session.
