ASCII American Standard Code of Information
Interchange.
Baud Unit of measure of transmission capacity.
Binary Number system based on 2. A binary digit is a bit.

BPS Bits Per Second. Number of binary digits transmitted

Byte A collection of four sequential bits of memory. Two
sequential bytes (8 bits) comprise one word.
COM Device name used to designate a communication
port.
DIP Dual In-line Package. The plastic housing designed
to be attached directly to a circuit board or equipment
case.
